The root of my personal and professional life has been grounded in the process of healing, personal development and service. My passion for dance and love of maps have led me to the The Trager® Approach to Movement, the 5 Rhythms® Movement practice, various structured circles of sharing, and recently, the Advanced Energy Healing Protocols from the Energy Healing Institute. These maps have provided guidance through the unknown, a lens for understanding and self-awareness, and a path for exploration, self-discovery and personal evolution.
My nursing career, extending from 1980-1990, was the beginning of a life long journey of service in healthcare. Over time it became clear to me that I was much more interested and comfortable using my hands and intuition rather than relying on machines and medicine. The Trager Approach became my profession of choice and taught me to access my curiosity and follow the conversational wisdom of the body. The 5-Rhythms® Movement Practice, of which I have been deeply involved as a student and teacher gave me profound appreciation for the wisdom and truth that our bodies reveal when movement is deeply authentic. Sitting in circles with others illuminated the experience of listening, sharing and being witnessed in our truth are essential for healing.
Since college, my work, spiritual practice and passions have been accessed through the movement of my physical body and verbal processing. I had never considered working with what seemed invisable. However, in 2016, I immersed myself in a certified energy healing practitioner training. While I was initially skeptical, I have been astounded at the possibilities and applications of working with the energy bodies to assist in healing and personal transformation. It is another map, and another dance. The skills of inquiry, listening, and trust in the wisdom of body that I have developed over decades, have assisted in making the energy work accessible and easily integrated into my Trager practice.
